Le Rouge et le Noir

Inspired by the musical adaptation of Stendhal's Le Rouge et le Noir, the design employs French rock aesthetics to interpret the emotions of protagonist Julien set in 19th-century France. It draws on the rebellious spirit of rock to capture the character’s inner contradictions against the backdrop of 19th-century European social dynamics. The work integrates elements of 19th-century court costumes with punk design, and adopts the classic red and black color palette to echo the themes of the novel, visualizing cross-era spiritual conflict and integration through a contemporary artistic lens.
