About The Entry

PeaMorph draws its design inspiration from the shape of natural pea pods, transforming organic forms into a soft, modular sleep aid product. The product’s appearance emphasizes approachability and emotional expression, using plush, tactile materials and low-saturation green tones to create a visually and physically comforting experience. Its overall enveloping, curved structure naturally encourages users to hug and hold the product, enhancing a sense of bodily security and attachment. Meanwhile, the internal “pea units” not only establish a rhythmic visual language but also provide variability, turning the object from a static item into a life-like companion.

Technologically, PeaMorph integrates physical computing into flexible product design, creating a complete interactive system through pressure sensing, temperature feedback, and responsive interactions. Unlike traditional sleep aids that rely on apps or single heating functions, this design emphasizes a “behavior-driven” interaction logic. The system can recognize users’ natural behaviors, such as hugging, pressing, or moving, and translate them in real-time into corresponding responses, like temperature adjustments or rhythmic feedback. This forms a “user action–system response” loop, transforming the product from a passive tool into an interactive sleep companion.

The design follows a “zero learning curve” principle: users can trigger the system through natural touch and embrace without additional effort. Technology is intentionally downplayed, allowing users to focus on comfort and relaxation rather than the device itself. While the companion app provides breathing guidance, white noise, and sleep data, the overall experience centers on the physical product, minimizing cognitive load before bedtime. This approach allows PeaMorph to seamlessly integrate into daily routines, particularly in low-stimulation, pre-sleep environments.

PeaMorph’s core innovation lies in shifting away from the traditional screen- or data-centric approach of sleep aids toward an interaction experience focused on touch and behavior. By combining a modular structure, flexible materials, and sensing systems, the product merges emotional comfort, physical relaxation, and intelligent feedback into a cohesive experience. It meets physiological sleep needs while addressing users’ emotional and psychological companionship requirements. PeaMorph explores a new form of sleep aid, integrating “tangible emotional experience” with “invisible intelligent technology,” offering a more human-centered design approach.
