About The Entry

ReJaw is a wearable, home-based rehabilitation device specifically designed for patients suffering from Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD). It translates complex clinical physical therapy into an accessible daily home care routine. By combining active resistance training with passive physical therapy, ReJaw helps improve patient compliance, a common challenge in traditional treatments. Technologically, the device utilizes a BOA micro-adjustable resistance structure and graphene thermal conduction technology. This enables precise resistance control during jaw opening and closing, alongside targeted thermal massage. The modular design enables patients to safely and measurably activate their mandibular muscles and perform joint stabilization exercises at home. Ultimately, ReJaw offers a non-invasive, conservative treatment approach to alleviate joint clicking and chronic pain, effectively helping users restore normal occlusion and chewing functions. By seamlessly integrating precision mechanics with smart sensing technology, ReJaw redefines the hardware standard for jaw rehabilitation. Dial-Controlled Resistance System: Creatively adapting the rotary dial mechanism from the footwear industry, this system introduces a new level of control to facial rehabilitation. By simply turning the dial, users experience smooth, consistent resistance during jaw movements. This intuitive and micro-adjustable control effectively eliminates the guesswork of traditional manual exercises, significantly reducing the risk of muscle strain. Secondary Injury Prevention Monitoring: Embedded smart sensors monitor the force exertion and fatigue levels of masticatory muscles in real-time. During resistance training, the device issues an immediate alert if it detects incorrect posture or excessive muscle fatigue. This closed-loop monitoring mechanism effectively prevents secondary joint injuries caused by improper exercise. Deep Soothing Heat: Utilizing a flexible graphene film that perfectly contours to the face, the device delivers rapid, consistent, and even warmth. This gentle heat penetrates deeply into the tissue, effectively relaxing tight masseter muscles and relieving jaw fatigue. Moving beyond the static support of conventional bite guards, ReJaw introduces a dynamic training system. Modular Synergy Architecture: Designed to address unilateral joint pain, the device features a flexible modular system that allows users to customize their care sequence. A user can, for example, apply targeted heat to specific areas of discomfort before seamlessly transitioning into resistance training for the entire jaw.
