About The Entry

The project originated from observations of patients with early-stage acquired flat feet: mild pain is often overlooked, while traditional insoles lack dynamic adjustment and long-term feedback. Through literature reviews, user interviews, comparisons of treatment methods, and studies on plantar pressure and gait, the project identified the need for early intervention and at-home monitoring. Ultimately, a smart insole system was designed that uses pressure sensors to collect plantar force data, employs algorithms to identify pressure levels, and controls the dynamic inflation and deflation of zoned air chambers to provide real-time arch support. Combined with mobile app logging, trend analysis, and medical service workflows, the system enables daily monitoring, personalized adjustments, and phased rehabilitation management.
