About The Entry

“The Infinite Amulet” mini jewelry medicine box represents a young designer's second foray into the jewelry field. Breaking away from the traditional, purely decorative nature of jewelry, the Infinite Amulet is an art piece deeply imbued with Eastern philosophies of protection and healing. The design is a heart-protecting medicine box created specifically for mothers, inspired by the ancient Chinese mythology, the *The Classic of Mountains and Seas*. This book not only records mythical creatures but also embodies the ancient people's primal belief in seeking elixirs and praying for health. The designer has distilled their love and protection for mothers into this jewelry medicine box design. The work breaks with traditional symmetry, showcasing the concept of balance in the Eastern universe through a highly dynamic composition. The designer envisioned the mother receiving the gift, her gaze naturally following the path from "upper left (carp tail) → lower left (carp head) → central heart → upper right (phoenix head) → lower right (phoenix tail)" in an infinite "∞" cycle. Each time she opens the box to take out the medicine, her gaze follows this circle, bringing peace to her heart. In terms of craftsmanship, the designer used cloisonné enamel, where the vitreous enamel is fused with metal at a high temperature of 900 degrees Celsius, perfectly showcasing the ethereal colors of the koi and the blue phoenix, with extremely vivid gradient tones. The central crane motif is rendered in black enamel to highlight its serene feel. This heart-protecting medicine box can also be used as a brooch, long pendant, and bag charm, meeting the daily needs of her mother‘s and possessing the characteristics of multi-functional jewelry. It is not merely a modern reimagining of traditional mythological symbols and craftsmanship, but also a transformation of the Eastern philosophy of "protection and healing" into the warm companionship that a mother can easily access.

The graphics software Procreate was used throughout the entire creation process. Due to the lengthy enamel process involved, the piece is currently still in production. The AI tool Gemini was used to render the final product's physical appearance.
