The design draws inspiration from the natural landscape surrounding the project, particularly the fluidity, inclusivity, and vitality of water. Rather than directly replicating its physical form, the design translates the essence of water into sculptural language, material textures, layers of light and shadow, and spatial circulation, allowing natural imagery to become an underlying spatial experience rather than a superficial visual symbol.

The overall concept combines ecological artistry with functional scenography. The four stilt-floor zones are differentiated according to their respective user groups and functional needs, forming thematic scenes centered on nature, social interaction, living, and art. While each zone establishes its own identity, a unified narrative is maintained through the extraction and reinterpretation of water as the core design motif. Variations in materials, lines, textures, light, and sculptural elements create continuity across the spaces while allowing each area to respond to different patterns of dwelling, interaction, and use.

Cultural expression is further strengthened through the introduction of the intangible cultural heritage technique of mother-of-pearl inlay. Applied to the hanging artworks within the gallery, this traditional craft is transformed into a contemporary artistic medium, bringing cultural memory and craftsmanship into dialogue with the modern public environment. Its integration also required careful consideration of installation precision, display conditions, durability, and long-term maintenance, balancing artistic expression with practical performance.

Sustainability is approached from both material and cultural perspectives. Durable, low-maintenance, and long-lasting materials are prioritized to reduce replacement frequency, operational costs, and resource consumption throughout the lifecycle of the space. At the same time, the incorporation of traditional craftsmanship supports the continuation and contemporary reinterpretation of intangible cultural heritage. Through this approach, sustainability extends beyond energy and material efficiency to encompass long-term spatial value, cultural continuity, and the sustained activation of community relationships.
