About The Entry
Intertwined light and dark shades create a tranquil, elegant residential scene, while outdoor greenery blends with daylight, reflecting the textures of decorative paint and infusing the interiors with natural vitality. Curved lines wrap around every sharp corner throughout the home, balancing the chill of modern design and subtly revealing the home's personality and warmth.
The design reconfigures circulation and function of the initial layout to accommodate the couple's long hours working from home and a family dynamic with a child and pets. It transforms the shared living space into a central hub for togetherness while allowing distinct zones for remote work, relaxation, and family time to coexist seamlessly. This creates an ideal residence that harmonizes aesthetics, comfort, and long-term value.
The entryway features a curved light strip that echoes the organic shapes used throughout the interior, complemented by decorative paint to set a calm, grounded tone. This slightly darker color palette offers a welcoming transition from outside, helping residents relax. The mudroom floor features stone tiles and seamlessly integrates a display cabinet, shoe bench, full-length mirror, and coat rack. This arrangement supports storage and daily decluttering, blending aesthetic appeal with practicality.
The living room centers on a light-colored TV wall that serves as the primary visual focus, complemented by a dark coffee table and storage units for organization and display. It features a mix of materials, including wood-grain panels, metal accents, glass, and rock-texture paint, adding subtle, layered detail. A sizable creamy gray sofa reflects the ceiling's negative space, creating a balanced atmosphere that feels grounded yet airy, perfect for residents to relax and socialize.
The dining and living areas form a single open space, featuring a large dining table for social gatherings and family meals while maintaining distinct functional zones. A long bench along the aisle can be stored under the table when not in use, keeping walkways clear. Both the pendant light above the dining table and the indirect lighting cast a warm yellow glow, softening the cool base colors and creating a cozy, welcoming dining environment.
