About The Entry
STELLABLESS nestles in the Lujiazui City Park in Shanghai, amidst lush greenery. As a fourth‑generation therapeutic maternal retreat, it moves beyond the clinical or hotel‑style models of traditional confinement centers, addressing both the physical recovery and emotional comfort of postpartum families through nature‑based healing—embodying a philosophy of nurturing oneself.
It draws inspiration from the brand's acorn motif, weaving the motif's rounded, rustic form and low‑saturation earth‑tone palette into the design language of the space. By means of large floor-to-ceiling windows, it brings the outdoor greenery into the interior view, blurring the boundary between inside and outside, while natural materials—such as oak wood and moss green accents, complemented by planted greenery—establish a warm, tranquil atmosphere.
STELLABLESS weaves safety and healing into every detail:
Rounded corners throughout, matte sound‑absorbing anti‑slip flooring, and skin‑friendly cotton‑linen upholstery combine to create a safe activity zone for the baby; a flicker‑free, daylight‑simulating, high‑CRI warm lighting system provides gentle illumination that protects the baby's developing eyes, while also soothing postpartum anxiety and fostering a sleep‑promoting ambiance.
STELLABLESS features Panasonic's patented fresh air system and radiant floor heating throughout, while an innovative double‑door layout creates separate routes for maternity matrons and new mothers—safeguarding privacy during recovery. Alongside this, an open‑plan living and dining area fosters warm family interactions.
The common area includes a panoramic sunroom for infant sunbathing, helping prevent jaundice; the postpartum recovery zone uses sandstone-like materials and diffused soft light to soften the clinical coldness, while helping new mothers relax both physically and mentally. The coffee bar, children's play area, and gaming lounge cater to the needs of family members and babies, easing the pressure of family caregiving; Furthermore, outdoor gardens, a yoga terrace, the Acorn Hall, and artistic programs such as singing bowl and handpan sessions, along with intangible cultural heritage workshops, extend healing into every aspect of the experience—bringing a new, emotion‑driven design approach to the maternal care space.
