Developed for the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), this project brings together innovative User Interface and User Experience Design strategy and a flexible visual system for two distinct audiences: the internal campus community served by RISD Public Safety, and external audiences reached through RISD External Conference & Event Services. As Social Media Content Creator, I developed content that translated departmental information into accessible, engaging visual stories.

My strategy started with understanding what each audience needed. For Public Safety, the goal was to make safety information easy to understand and help students feel more comfortable connecting with the department. Content included safety tips, campus resources, seasonal reminders, and community celebrations. For External Conference & Event Services, the goal was to introduce RISD and Providence to visitors and potential event clients through posts about event spaces, local activities, and the school’s history.

The designs used bold headlines, clear layouts, photography, illustration, and consistent colors to capture attention and make information easier to read. Safety posts emphasized practical advice and clear actions. Posts about Providence and RISD used photographs and storytelling to encourage people to explore. I also illustrated Public Safety officers and created playful character stickers to give the department a friendlier, more personal presence. Question prompts and materials with QR codes invited people to connect with the accounts and participate online.

My role included graphic design, motion graphics, video production, photography, and illustration. I also worked with campus departments to support events, document activities, and create materials for digital and print use.

Together, these pieces formed a coordinated social media system. The project shows how thoughtful planning and creative design can help different departments communicate clearly while building a stronger connection with their communities.
