Construct of Morales

Inspired by The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Construct of Morales translates an idea from the movie—that everyone experiences life differently—into the garment. Exclusively designed for women, it merges traditional suit tailoring with personal artistic expression, becoming a vessel for memories, experiences, and stories.

The piece is mainly crafted from a lightweight wool-blend suiting fabric in white to establish a clean, elegant, and timeless base, much like a blank canvas. Consisting of a double-breasted blazer and a pair of relaxed wide-leg trousers, it presents a modern aesthetic and improves wearing comfort while retaining the strength and structure inherent in a classic power suit. Artistic details across the garment revolve around the theme of “life experiences.” The back of the blazer features handwritten-style embroidery, weaving a narrative through understated visual details; the leg of the trousers incorporates a vintage-inspired printed panel with handwritten text, reinforcing the sense of storytelling through a contrast in textures. Assorted custom pins and a signature brooch serve as recognizable, distinctive details, adding some visual interest to the overall look.

Functional design is further integrated to meet everyday needs: the blazer boasts multiple inner pockets and double-welt pockets; the trousers employ deeper side pockets, enhancing storage capacity without compromising the tailored silhouette. Moreover, the blazer achieves the visual effect of a traditional lapel through a novel front structure. The collar is also stitched down at the sides to prevent flipping and shifting. The suit ingeniously combines traditional garment-construction techniques (including structured stitching, lining, and finishing) with artisanal processes (such as hand painting, embroidery, and fabric paneling), creating a harmonious unity of structure, function, and artistic expression.
