Songboling Visitor Center- Tea Culture Theme Pavilion

Taiwan tea is famous all over the world, and the tea production in the Songboling area of Bagua Mountain in Nantou County is the highest in Taiwan. To introduce the beauty of Taiwan and the pride of the tea industry and to deepen visitors' impression of Taiwan's tea, the Songboling Visitor Center has created a "Tea Culture Theme Pavilion" by incorporating guided tours and experiential activities. The project is on a tableland. And after many modifications and reconstruction, the interior structure has become fragmented with many partitions affecting the light and vision. Therefore, the design team unified the internal space, planned the routes, maximize the utilization, and then planned the route as the first and second floors respectively, finally forming the expression of "teaching while playing." As for the route, the design team has planned the first floor for the history and culture of Taiwan's local tea production. The first-floor lobby has an antique wooden table that echoes the theme of tea culture and leaves a deep impression on visitors. With such a plan, the first floor allows visitors to learn about tea from Songboling, and the second floor provides an overview of global tea, further expanding the "breadth" of visitors' knowledge of tea. On the other hand, the space introduces many interactive experience facilities, such as the six major tea types scent bottles, replica tea-making scenes, where visitors can experience the process of frying and panning tea, as well as a miniature version of the animated tea-making model. Finally, there is a tea tasting table where visitors can see, hear touch, smell, and taste tea to experience the knowledge on paper and enhance the "depth" of their understanding of tea.
