Magic Box

The house is a 140 square meter hardcover house with excellent view and light. The uniformity and pattern of hardcover house made the owner determined to finish tearing down and remodeling. After the house was completely demolished, its layout took the form of a pass-through from the kitchen to the living room and the balcony. Therefore, the design of house is divided and connected with different spaces through color blocks and boxes of different shades, while the magic box design with large storage and beauty coexists.

In terms of color palette, we didn't adopt too bright colors, but mainly simple and plain, black and white together to highlight the texture, wood color to emphasize the warmth, and cement color to highlight certain advanced.

In the household renovation, original checkroom was removed to connect the living and dining spaces. Moving the living room toward the dining room and expanded the balcony space. The balcony has a particularly great view, and a large tabletop was placed on the balcony for drinking tea, reading, working, and playing cats. A whole wardrobe was added at the end of bed in the master bedroom. After calculation, the amount of clothing storage after renovation is much larger than the original checkroom. The checkroom was eliminated, while the master bedroom and guest bedroom were separated. By reducing the size of master bathroom and moving the vanity outward, it was designed as a triple-separation bathroom. Such renovation expanded the size of vanity countertop and shower space. The invisible door was designed on the external wall of the second bedroom, and when closed, the second bathroom and the second bedroom form an ensuite. The outside corner of original dining area is just right for the refrigerator, the dining room with dark color living room with light color, taking the refrigerator and outside corner to form a recess just right for the refrigerator, which makes the dining room form a complete box. The outside corner of living room is adjusted and weakened by the concept of cabinets and light and dark boxes to form a special back wall.
