Four Seasons

The Four Seasons pendant, inspired by the Tibetan prayer wheel, comprises four parts: the scriptures, the body, the chain and the tassel. It draws on the symbolism of the Buddhist prayer wheel to cultivate virtue and pray for happiness and uses plum blossoms, orchids, bamboo and chrysanthemum to correspond to the four seasons, as well as Western gemstones to embellish it, conveying the multiple aesthetics of fusion of the East and the West.
The design team has carved a design and set up mechanisms on the tiny piece of jewellery to make it rotate smoothly as a Buddhist prayer wheel, condensing Chinese aesthetics and Western stones into the tiny body. The jewellery is colour-coordinated using 18K gold yellow and Burmese ruby red, resulting in a harmonious blend of Eastern subtlety and Western flamboyance. The Heart Sutra is engraved on the body, expressing a beautiful vision of protection against evil and blessings.
The prayer wheel's compact body depicts the four seasons with plum blossoms, orchids, bamboo, and chrysanthemums, symbolising the humble and noble spirit of the East. Tsavorite, diamonds, and saltwater pearls are used to distinguish between the four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter in this piece of jewellery. The tassels at the bottom of the piece balance out the weight of the pendant and reflect the lotus-shaped clasp at the top of the chain, emphasising the jewellery's delicate and dynamic qualities. All product parts can be disassembled and reused, providing social value through recycling.
