This project, guided by the concept of "art intervention in rural areas", aims to leverage the natural scenic features of the mountainous landscape in Daping Village to create a more refined and distinctive rural aesthetic living experience. Centered around "rural aesthetics", the project employs wayfinding systems, cultural installations, and public amenities to enhance the environment and atmosphere of Daping Village. By harmonizing agriculture, commerce, culture, and tourism, the project not only enhances the visual appeal but also contributes to the economic well-being of the villagers. This approach aligns with the strategic objectives of rural revitalization: promoting thriving industries, livable ecology, cultural refinement, effective governance, and improved livelihoods.
Building upon the existing state of Daping Village, our endeavor is to preserve its original rural charm and blend it harmoniously with the local cultural ecosystem, to foster a collective emotional bond with the village. Our aim is to establish a distinct rural aesthetic that encapsulates the unique character of Daping Village. To achieve this, we enhance ecological guidance at key points, amplify the village's landscape ambiance, and evoke a deep sense of local nostalgia. Throughout the design and construction process, we draw inspiration from local resources, maintain an ecological simplicity while embracing Daping Village's distinctive collage-style visual attributes. We reject uniformity, but allow artistic cultivation to naturally infiltrate and enrich the village's essence.
