To break the shackles of ordinary café image, the designer cores on “emotional consumption” and “spatial liberation”. By providing an open space, this project creates an atmosphere of open mind, diversification and innovation. The designer concentrates on the “idea of liberation”, which uses the flowing streams of marble pattern and the interlacing of natural and artificial light to create the beauty of both static and dynamic. This project is a two-level building surrounded by skyscrapers in a commercial city; therefore, standing out of the environment and blend in with it at the same time is the major issue. To make this building an urban green space, the designer uses the natural color of white and green and places the sheep area on the top of the roof. By doing so, he wishes to welcome the outside world into the café, and with large-scale marbling pattern, this project tries its best to become the ark of the city. The designer uses large number of clear glass and plant wall to blur the boundary between man and nature; creates an interior space using the large-scale marble pattern as both its background and mainstay. Supplemented by Hand-painted tiles and contemporary paintings, the transitional area is presented in a form of art gallery. Last but not least, he brings in innovative design such as different material stitching, harmonious tone between warm and cold and arrangement of geometric pattern. This original building of the project is a low steel structure with many leaks; therefore, it’s difficult to achieve visual extension. To conquer this issue, the designer uses the elevation façade to shape the breadth of vision, supplemented by the floor-to-ceiling dividing line, the extension of the light strip, and the use of color.
