Resting Memories

The site is a new apartment, aptly named "Resting Memories," symbolizing the home as a haven in life. The designer took "Life's Commas" as the theme, utilizing grilles, contrasting colors, and various materials to shape a comforting and relaxing ambiance. Within each themed area, the interplay of horizontal and vertical lines connects spaces in a manner akin to "island hopping" through life. The design constructs a home that integrates functionality with aesthetics, where each family member can create cherished memories and unique experiences.

● The comma serves as a connector between sentences

The designer used ceiling beams adorned with wooden grilles to delineate the boundaries. These extended lines of the grilles achieve visual and functional zoning. Much like a comma, the grilles also link different areas together.

For example, from the entrance to the dining room ceiling, wooden grilles with black paint and leather-wrapped decorative panels create a layered look. The study and living room are merged into an open plan. Murals paired with gray mirrors and brass metallic paint create a sense of artistry and modern style, outlining a subtle luxury.

● The comma is an extension into future chapters

Life cannot be summed up in a single sentence. The project employs the use of color flashes to add depth and dimension. The social area uses dark wood veneer and black paint as the main visual, interspersed with gray-white and metallic accents, creating a rich interplay of light and dark layers. In the private area, the master bedroom's headboard wall features fair-faced wood veneer panels and faux-paint artistic paint, cleverly integrated with black rabbet lines, presenting a serene and restrained beauty.
