Illuminated Ceilings of Seventh Son Restaurant

SEVENTH SON is a Michelin-starred Cantonese cuisine brand originating from Hong Kong. Its Beijing branch, Beijing SEVENTH SON Restaurant, is quietly located on the underground level of the Jiaming Center in Beijing CBD. Given the inherent lack of natural light in subterranean spaces, which can evoke a sense of depression, the restaurant’s lighting design adopts a distinctive approach centered on simulating natural daylight. By ingeniously integrating the architectural elements of Lingnan courtyard design into the ceiling, the restaurant has installed dimmable RGBCW linear light strips to create a luminous sky model that vividly mimics the natural light of an outdoor Lingnan courtyard.

In the restaurant’s courtyard seating area, the ceiling lighting dynamically adjusts in brightness and color temperature to mirror the shifting hues of natural daylight throughout the day.

From the faint light at dawn to the radiant glow at dusk, the color and brightness of the lights change imperceptibly. Especially at sunset, the restaurant lights showcase the ultimate charm of the "sky" colors. When night falls, the lights smoothly transition from colorful to warm tones, perfectly setting the cozy atmosphere for dining at night.

In addition to simulating natural sunlight scenes, the ceiling lights of the restaurant also have a flexible customization function. Whether for an intimate birthday party or a festive Spring Festival celebration, the lighting can be tailored to create a unique atmosphere that matches the theme of the event. After the event, with just a single press of a button, the system can swiftly revert to the regular daylight mode.

The restaurant employs passive kinetic switch panels paired with RGBCW five-channel dimming and color-tuning technology for the luminous ceiling. This allows diners to feel as though they are seated in a timeless Lingnan courtyard, savoring culinary delights while basking in the dynamic warmth of simulated "sunlight." Additionally, the project’s innovative Bluetooth-enabled smart lighting control system and real-time cloud-based fixture monitoring technology significantly reduce operational costs, delivering unprecedented convenience in restaurant management.
