Chengdu SKP Spring Blessing Tree & Market Art Installation

The inspiration for this design is drawn from traditional elements of the Spring Festival and Valentine's Day, seamlessly blending modern artistic techniques with the aesthetic sensibilities of high-end brands. During the early design phase, we considered how the installation should not only reflect the festive atmosphere of Chinese New Year, the Lantern Festival, and Valentine's Day but also resonate with the emotional connections and cultural expectations associated with these celebrations. Due to the complex architectural structure of SKP, particularly the arrangement of the event space and brand boutiques, the design team needed to strategically position the installation within a limited space to ensure optimal layout and integration. Through modular design, we implemented movable installations that seamlessly integrate with the mall’s existing layout without disruption. By ensuring the flexibility and spatial fluidity of the Blessing Tree and market stalls, the design not only aligns with the brand’s upscale aesthetic but also maximizes space utilization for an optimal experience. To maintain a high-end aesthetic and durability, it was essential to select appropriate materials to ensure that the Blessing Tree, lanterns, and market installations retain their visual appeal and functionality even after multiple uses. We used high-quality eco-friendly materials, such as artificial trees, metal frameworks, and LED light strips, combined with professional surface coating and decorative techniques to ensure the aesthetic appeal and structural stability of the installation throughout its lifecycle. Since the event needs to be set up and executed within a short timeframe for both the Spring Festival and Valentine's Day, time and budget constraints became the primary challenges. We used eco-friendly, non-toxic artificial leaves, recyclable materials, and energy-efficient LED light strips to ensure the long-term usability and sustainability of the installation. For the lanterns and decorations, we used recycled paper and detachable materials, reducing environmental impact and enabling sustainable material reuse. The lighting design for the Blessing Tree and lanterns utilizes low-energy LED light strips, which not only conserve energy but also reduce daily maintenance costs.
