Inspired by the relentless pursuit of speed and lightness in Le Mans racing, the C202 G9 II advances the philosophy of structural simplification, while still maintaining its industry-leading lightweight performance (weighing only 138g). Through its extended long-lever-arm carbon plate and rear-shifted plate structure optimization, it further enhances assistive performance and energy transfer efficiency, making elite performance accessible beyond just forefoot strikers. It's engineered to meet the progressive demands of everyday runners. Aesthetically, the shoe's heel echoes the layered profile of a race car's headlights, with a stacked, open-worked structure that creates a floating visual. The carbon plate flows from a streamlined, automotive-inspired base to form a powerful lever arm. Here, form directly serves function, enhancing aerodynamics and propulsion while achieving a profound fusion of minimalist design and high-performance engineering. The C202 G9 II breaks from traditional carbon plate mechanisms. It innovatively repositions the carbon plate further back, extending it to the heel bone to create a long lever-arm structure. By optimizing the force transmission path, this structure efficiently converts landing impact on the heel into propulsive acceleration, which minimizes unnecessary movement and extra muscle activity, and decreases fatigue. This allows a broader audience of heel strikers to experience the propulsive advantages of a carbon plate. The rearward shift of the carbon plate's lowest point and rocker enhances both propulsion and landing stability, while a strategically designed cutout in the calcaneus area mitigates the sustained impact from high-intensity race landings. With full-length LTR rubber and lab-tested tread patterns informed by over 3000km of wear data, the outsole offers exceptional grip across varied surfaces and strike patterns. It's engineered for high-speed control—like a racecar hugging the apex of a corner. Featuring proprietary AT-FIBER metallic yarns, the upper achieves an industry-first fusion of ultra-lightweight, breathability, cut-resistance, and tensile strength. The shimmering gold finish mimics automotive metallic paintwork, shifting hues under light to create a dynamic, performance-forward visual language. C202 G9 II is based on the principle of “technology democratization,” aiming to make carbon-fiber propulsion—once exclusive to elite-level racing—accessible to everyday runners.
