THE BIONT Armchair

Nature bestows people with an endless stream of inspiration. Art and design are largely based on this and generate vitality.THE BIONT Armchair inspired by the fluidity of an extended state resulting from the growth structure of natural organisms, such as the roots and stems of plants and the body structures of animals, this concept is characterized by coherence and integration. The beauty of these natural organisms serves as the design language that permeates the entire work. While the chair fulfills its functional requirements, it also embodies an aesthetic quality that appears naturally formed.



At that time, I aspired to introduce novel attempts into this design. Significant innovations were incorporated in both the aesthetic aspects and structural form. During the initial conceptualization phase, I deliberately outlined the design using continuous lines. Drawing inspiration from nature, I meticulously refined and adjusted the design until achieving a satisfactory outcome. My objective was for the chair to convey an impression of elegance and efficiency, embodying the dynamic power of a natural organism.Irregular shapes necessitate meticulous processing at every angle to achieve an overall effect that is both harmonious and coordinated. The chair legs are crafted from a single piece of wood, hot-bent to enhance unity and provide a robust load-bearing structure. The curvature of the bend adheres to precise proportions, creating an aesthetically pleasing visual effect. Unlike traditional armchairs, THE BIONT features an integrated connection between the chair legs and armrests, as though they "grow" seamlessly from a single endpoint. This integration, along with the backrest, forms a stable triangular force-bearing structure, ensuring excellent load-bearing capabilities without requiring additional beams.The seat surface fabric is crafted from eco-friendly and durable ultra-fine leather, while the wooden components are finished with a matte paint treatment. This not only preserves the natural texture of the wood but also enhances its waterproof and crack-resistant properties, making it suitable for outdoor applications.
