Wooden Nook Café

This project is a single-story commercial space renovation with an interior area of approximately 115 square meters.
The design language blends old and new, conveying the emotions and memories embedded in the space. This multi-functional café-bar is situated in a corner alleyway. The entrance retains a strong impression of wooden structural elements, with a specially designed semi-outdoor resting area. The open wooden bar counter seamlessly integrates with the old brick walls, continuing the memories of the past, evoking the open atmosphere of a street-side eatery, attracting visitors to linger.
Less is more; the translation between old and new does not rely on heavy-handed design. Upon entering, the main wall's rich retro green sets the visual tone, complemented by dark wood, brass, and retro color tones, creating a serene atmosphere for the evening. The ceiling is unified with a deep black paint finish, with exposed pipes also painted to match. The floor uses plastic tiles in the same color scheme, creating a balanced and consistent visual rhythm.
Open low windows and large glass panels bring in the flow of people and vehicles from the alley across the street, creating a daily scene of mutual gaze between inside and outside. Opening the window reveals the view, while closing it creates its own scenery. Lighting is used to define the focal point of the indoor space. Custom-made brass tubes form a square pendant light suspended above the bar area, echoing the hardware of the shelves. This unifies the material vocabulary, creating a cohesive overall feel, seamlessly transitioning from the daytime ambiance of coffee and light conversation to the nighttime ambiance of wine and whispered conversations.
