A Heart-Warming Residence

A good design is based on needs, and yet it does more than meet these needs. The project is located in New Taipei City and enjoys the convenience and functionality of the newly-developed zone. The female homeowner is fond of simplicity and pure white. Therefore, its designing team makes the best of the pure-white tone paired with modernist elements. Through the collage of different materials such as marble and black glass, a stark contrast of black and white is made, adding gradations to the space. The small bedroom in the original layout is torn down and converted into a semi-open reading section, with short walls of smart nano boards that mark different functions and yet retain openness of the space. A couch on which to enjoy sunshine doubles as storage, while also serving purposes of reading, work and nap. Suspended over the couch is an open wooden shelf which, complemented by the chic tone of the wall, looks warm and lively. The design is organized down to the last detail. The simple neat look of the residence perfectly meets the needs of the homeowners, while each section is defined in a unique way. By listening closely and reorganizing the layout ingeniously, and through clever, diverse combination of different materials, the design of A Heart-Warming Residence not only meets the needs of the homeowners but also warms their hearts.
