By using different materials that have steadiness and simplicity, the overall has delivered a harmonious atmosphere. Low-contrast colors such as black, white, grey, and denim were used as the designing core and were expanded throughout the public area, the staircase, the study, and the master bedroom. The color changes between dark and light have also defined the different functionalities of each area. At the same time, the selected mineral paints and wooden elements are skin-friendly while delivering a warm sense, allowing users to soak in a cozy living environment. At last, the rearrangement of the spatial and the outstanding color pairing have created an enlarged visual sense and a maximized space usage. The maisonette is equipped with sufficient lighting; therefore, the designer uses window arrangements by placing wooden louvers and light-dimming roller shades. These designs can soften daylight while drawing appropriate brightness and transparency. During the daytime, they can efficiently decrease electric usage and achieve eco-friendly. At the same time, healthy and low-pollution materials such as decomposable Japanese diatomaceous earth, German zero-formaldehyde mineral paints, and Italian non-toxic seamless paints. The primitive materials will be giving users and the environment a healthy life through the natural elements. This designer played the role of constructor and user at the same time and hoped to exert his designing talents and bring the space close to life. The space was expected to meet demands for working and living simultaneously; therefore, area and material divisions and functionality are specially arranged. The space is planned with an open-end method while applying the classic black color as the main concept; meanwhile, white and grey tones are infused into the interior to create a simple and steady aesthetic through transparent lighting.
