About The Entry

The 2026 Hsinchu Children’s Arts Festival was designed to enhance accessibility to the arts, especially for children and families, through professional performing arts programs and interactive arts experiences. By encouraging children to engage with creativity, imagination, and aesthetic exploration, the festival aimed to strengthen Hsinchu City’s identity as a child-friendly city while creating a major tourism highlight during the holiday period.

Under the theme “Detective Wonderland,” the festival took place from April 3 to April 6 at Hsinchu Park, Hsinchu City Stadium, and Wind Livehouse. In collaboration with the internationally renowned IP Detective Conan, the event featured 16 children’s performing arts shows, 8 Detective Conan meet-and-greet sessions, 4 large-scale Conan installations, 10 art-and-technology activities, 16 storytelling theater sessions, 24 street performances, 4 children’s dance performances, a large inflatable play area, fitness-based play facilities for preschool children, 16 Detective Conan film screenings, food and craft markets, family competitions, and interactive games. A key highlight of the festival was the participation of internationally acclaimed dancer Huang Yi, who presented 8 sessions of Huang Yi & KUKA family edition, along with interactive workshops tailored for the event.

Through a rich combination of performing arts, technology, storytelling, IP engagement, and family-friendly activities, the festival allowed children to explore the world of art in an accessible, playful, and engaging way.

The festival also provided sign language interpretation and audio description services for selected performances, putting cultural equity and inclusive participation into practice. Over four consecutive days, the event attracted more than 345,000 visitors, offering families a fulfilling holiday experience while demonstrating the power of art, creativity, and inclusive design in shaping a vibrant child-friendly city.
