Club Med ・Hangzhou Longwu Resort

Club Med・Hangzhou Longwu Resort is nestled along Longmen Creek in Longwu Tea Town, Xihu District, Hangzhou, surrounded by rolling tea gardens and verdant mountains. The project spans 40,407 square meters of land with a built area of 36,468 square meters, offering 260 guest rooms across three above-ground floors and two basement levels. Rooted in Longwu's thousand-year tea culture, the resort launched in April 2026 under Club Med's "Urban Oasis" city-resort brand.

The design is driven by the core concept of "Nature-Infused Harmony, Body-Mind Retreat," drawing from the distinctive terroir of Longjing tea country and emphasizing a sense of place and time. The spatial strategy dissolves the boundary between architecture and nature—floor-to-ceiling windows frame the rolling tea hills, allowing light and landscape to permeate every functional zone. Conventional partitions are eliminated to create fluid, open spaces with unimpeded sightlines and natural airflow, enabling guests to move effortlessly between indoor and outdoor settings.

Natural materials predominate: warm wood grains evoke the tactile comfort of tea groves, while stone's solid, earthy presence grounds the interior palette. The color scheme draws from the tea garden itself—deep browns of the soil and fresh greens of Longjing leaves interweave to cultivate a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Daylighting is paramount: strategically placed windows flood interiors with soft, luminous warmth.

Decorative details incorporate local craftsmanship and folk motifs through a restrained contemporary lens—not as cultural clichés, but as an perceptible spatial character. The result is a realization of the "Body-Mind Retreat" ideal: an urban oasis where modern dwellers can return to nature and restore their inner balance.
