About The Entry
Drawing inspiration from natural "photosynthesis", this project reimagines a 225-square-meter exhibition hall as a "chloroplast" within the biotechnology industry—a super carrier that continuously supplies energy for industrial innovation—aiming to create a compact bio-industrial ecological field. Breaking through the static nature of traditional exhibition spaces, this project constructs a breathing, transformable, and growing organic life field that empowers enterprises to complete their full-cycle development from energy absorption to growth and fission, promoting the clustered symbiotic growth of the biotechnology industry.
The spatial narrative follows the logic of photosynthetic energy conversion, unfolding a four-chapter visitor journey: "Tracing Light—Walking with Light", "Photosynthetic—Converging for Creation", "Habitat—Breaking Boundaries for Symbiosis", and "Renew—Fission and Regeneration". This transforms visitors from passive onlookers into active participants in the flow of energy, guiding them through a cognitive leap from absorption to release. In response to the site constraint of a 2.85-meter ceiling height, this project moves away from a fully suspended ceiling to avoid a sense of compression. Instead, it adopts a flowing leaf-vein-like ceiling to extend visual depth, translating the intricate structures of microscopic organelles into spatial order. Besides, it plans a dual-circulation system—fast and slow—to accommodate a 30-minute immersive wandering and a 15-minute efficient business talk.
Guided by a sustainable design philosophy, this project introduces natural daylight as the primary light source, turning the glass curtain wall into a breathable photosynthetic membrane. This effectively reduces energy consumption from artificial lighting, aligning the energy conversion logic of light with the growth stages of the biotechnology industry.
