About The Entry
In Taiwan, the Ping-An Fu (Peace Charm) is a protective talisman that almost everyone has carried since childhood — clipped to a school bag, tucked into a wallet, or hung in a car — as a quiet, everyday belief seeking safe travels and protection from "Xiao Ren" (backstabbers and ill-wishers), deeply rooted yet never loudly proclaimed.
Taiwanese folk culture also holds a separate, independent custom: keeping a condom in one's wallet as a symbol of guarding one's fortune.
We merged these two unrelated cultural traditions into a single product. First, the condom packaging is designed in the style of a Ping-An Fu, allowing people to bring it to a temple for an authentic blessing ceremony. When hung in a car or placed in a bag, it carries forward the charm's traditional blessing of safety; when placed in a wallet, it takes on the added meaning of guarding one's fortune. It also keeps young couples safe during their intimate "ins and outs," while the condom itself does exactly what it's meant to do — preventing the arrival of an unplanned "little person." It's a product where function and meaning exist side by side.
What makes it even more valuable is this: sex education is so often wrapped in excessive conservatism and shame, leaving young people too afraid to talk about it, ask questions, or take proper precautions when it matters most. This product uses the most humorous, even slightly cheeky wordplay to break through that awkward silence — when a condom can be casually hung in a car, tucked into a wallet, openly talked about, and even blessed at a temple just like a Ping-An Fu, sex education stops being taboo. It becomes something people can openly laugh and talk about as a natural part of everyday life.
