BIOTOPE PASSAGE
A biotope is a habitat where plants and animals can live in balance and harmony.
The term was first conceived in Germany, combining the Greek words bio (life) and topos (place).
A passage, on the other hand, refers to an arcade-lined street where shops face each other across a covered walkway—
a typology that flourished as a sophisticated shopping space before the advent of department stores.
In French, it also means “transit,” “passage,” or “pathway.”
By weaving these two notions together, the concept of BIOTOPE PASSAGE emerges within the floor vision
“OCEAN SKY FOREST WORKATION.”
It is not merely a corridor of meeting rooms, but a living sequence of spaces that embody both flow and habitat.
Each room is named after a fragment of nature—“twig,” “soil,” “lake,” “cocoon.”
The walls are draped in fabric, the floors layered with patterned carpet tiles,
each finish carefully chosen to echo its name and theme while also providing acoustic comfort.
From the ceilings, pendant lights of varying shapes and materials descend,
their forms shifting with each room to reflect the natural metaphors they embody.
Even the table legs differ—metal, wood, round, or four-legged—
subtle yet deliberate details that carry the language of nature into the smallest elements of design.
As one moves through the passage, encounters unfold:
the trembling of branches, the stillness of a lake, the expanse of sand, the serenity of a cocoon.
Material, color, light, and shadow overlap to create atmospheres as distinct as they are harmonious,
inviting people to wander as if through a landscape rather than a workplace.
BIOTOPE PASSAGE is not simply a collection of rooms.
It is a journey through fragments of nature, a corridor that guides, inspires, and soothes—
a space that brings both tranquility and imagination into the rhythm of everyday work.
