The vintage building is located in the Xixi River of Hangzhou, which possesses exceptional charming features of the Hui Styled Architecture. After entering the house, the distinctive lightwell design receives excellent sunlight; the light and shadow flow like a vivid ink painting. People can also enjoy soaking in the sunshine, getting rid of the hustle and bustle, comfortably appreciating the captivating ambiance of the century-old property.



We renovate the century-old architecture built in the Ming Dynasty. Ingeniously preserve the distinguished pattern and feature of Hui Style Architecture; moreover, exploit the updated elements to bring about a contemporary Oriental Zen style.

Save the original tiles of the roof and refinish the interior ceiling and façade with diatomaceous earth coating.

Adopt the traditional craftsmanship and introduce the eco-friendly and timeless ideas, successfully lasting the respectable antiquity and opening the new phase of the residence.



We utilize the modern steel skeleton construction to erect the up-to-date bones to the ancient mansion built by natural timbers.

Also, varnish the original roof tiles with waterproof and thermal-protective coating, set up a large glass to shade the lightwell, and pave the indoor floor with handmade gold bricks to achieve the effect of excellent circulation and homoiothermy of the whole space.



Broaden the original narrow and sloping staircases of the square patterned Hui style structure, and set up the circular flow to walk and move smoothly.

The atrium serves as the hallway, which leads to the varying rooms for making tea, meditation, and dining on the first floor.

Afterward, step into the living room on the second floor; people can receive the appealing scene of Xixi River through the open carved windows.



Carefully retain the original tiles and timbers of the building, and renovate it by laminating the aged-texture wood planks.
